A Celebration of Aurora and Culture

Naka, Willideh for “Northern Lights.”

The City of Yellowknife, together with Yellowknives Dene First Nation, the North Slave Metis Alliance, the Government of the Northwest Territories, and Northwest Territories Tourism, started an annual festival to celebrate the aurora borealis and Indigenous culture in the capital city in the Northwest Territories.

The week-long event features Dene astronomy, drum dances, art displays, photography workshops, film screenings, and “Taste the North” night, gala night, and more.

PlanIt North’s art department developed the creative brand for the event and produced all marketing and design materials.
