Sambaa K'e First Nation (SKFN) is committed to finding creative ways to share Dene Yati (language) and traditions.
The waters of Sambaa K'e (Trout Lake) and its surrounding lands have been used by SKFN ancestors for thousands of years.
The map is filled with Dene Yati place names and each name tells a story. PlanIt North's team member, Maggie Collins has been working with SKFN throughout the 2017-2018 year to create an illustrated book of traditional stories and place names so that SKFN members, young and old, can learn about their heritage.
