Academics & Students

PlanIt North is always looking for creative opportunities to help our clients achieve their goals.

If you are a researcher or student interested in discussing potential collaborations, please be in touch. We are looking for graduate level students interested in developing partnership studies with First Nation communities through programs such as planning, natural resources or environmental studies, business (with a focus on local community economic development, sustainable livelihoods or conservation / cultural tourism), archaeology, anthropology or another relevant program.

We are interested in working with you, your supervisor and our clients to see if mutually beneficial partnerships may be developed. These could be established through thesis questions, professional projects, internships or practicums.

Generally, potential academic partners must be at an early stage of development so that questions and approaches can be developed closely with the partner organization. Typically, the student or researcher must also be willing to spend a reasonable amount of time - at least three months - working locally with a host community in NWT.
